About this blog

This blog has been created for a master thesis at the Faculty of Informatics, Institute of Software Technology and Interactive Systems [1] of the Vienna University of Technology [2]. It provides a collection of structured information about approaches and applications of information and communication technologies (ICT) that enable savings of greenhouse gas emissions.

In this context following things are presented:

• A taxonomy of ICT for a Low Carbon Society, providing a classification structure of applications and approaches, and the definition of common terms of this domain.

• A description of selected applications and approaches, which are classified according to the taxonomy.

• A graphical representation of the taxonomy with mind maps containing interactive content tags.

Explore the interaktive mind maps to learn more about the potential of ICT to contribute to a Low Carbon Society by saving greenhouse gas emissions.
